Roots
BornI was born and raised in Russia, in Ufa, the capital of the Republic of Bashkortostan.
Study
I studied at the Moscow State Conservatory and at the Schola Cantorum Basiliensis.
Professional
I am a freelance musician and work as a flutist, teacher, organist and music curator in Switzerland and Europe. I have the podcast
(in)sight-reading
which is dedicated to the education of early music sight-reading.
Why
I started learning music at the age of 7 and this profession has accompanied me all my life. Music became a part of me, influencing my soul, my line of vision, my perspective on life, and my taste for aesthetics.
My dream is to achieve the most touching performance in a new form, in an entirely new concert experience.
Elective Affinities
Today, I don’t listen to music as much, but I used to be influenced by a CD that helped me decide where I wanted to continue my education. It was a CD by Barthold Kuijken.
Something else
I’m interested in the process of how musical activity is triggered in the human brain and what happens when we improvise music – also in the big question of how creativity begins in the first place.
