Joan
Boronat Sanz

Harpsichord, organ and voice (baritone)

Roots
Born in 1986 in Alicante (Spain), also lived in Barcelona. Since 2010 in Basel.

Study
I completed my music studies at the ESMUC in Barcelona (2006-2010) and at the Schola Cantorum Basiliensis (2010-2014).

Professional
I work both as a répétiteur at the Schola Cantorum Basiliensis and as a freelance concert performer, both as a solo organist/harpsichordist and mainly as a basso continuo player in chamber ensembles (De Missione Musicorum, Infermi d’Amore, La Guirlande, Tunelanders) and specialized baroque orchestras (La Cetra, Collegium 1704).

Why
The more I live hand in hand with music, the more I see the world through the eyes of music. So what should I answer? Did I choose the music or did the music choose me?

Elective Affinities
Art and nature are adventures per se (my father already said that). I like jazz, Celtic music, hiking, swimming, meeting with family and friends, and traveling in the jungles of Panamá and Costa Rica. I also like to read: Tao te King by Lao Tzu, Steppenwolf by Hesse and mangas.

One question I would like to ask
If you could travel back in time, where would you want to go?
