Jörg-Andreas
Bötticher
Organ and harpsichord
Roots
Born and first childhood Berlin, school education in Lörrach (Hebelgymnasium).
Study
At the Schola Cantorum Basiliensis I studied organ with Jean-Claude Zehnder, harpsichord with Andreas Staier and basso continuo with Jesper Christensen. Further studies with G. Leonhardt, among others.
Professional
I teach harpsichord, basso continuo and ensemble playing at the SCB, act as organist of the Predigerkirche Basel and am artistic director of the Abendmusiken Basel. In addition, I give concerts and master classes in Switzerland, Germany, the Czech Republic and Poland.
Why
Music is for me the most beautiful means of communication, it can express and transform spiritual and emotions and is a window to heaven.
Elective Affinities
M. Rilke, Letters to a Young Poet. Piano recordings with Moritz Rosenthal (1842-1946). To accompany my (now adult) children into life. Being out and about in the mountains.
What do you want to pass on?
The joy of discovering music over and over again. The experience that music can have a healing effect.
