Roots
I was born and raised in Ottawa, Canada.
Studies
I studied classical singing at the Université de Montréal, early music and ensemble singing at the Schola Cantorum Basiliensis, and baroque singing at the Conservatoire à rayonnement régional de Paris.
Professional
I work as a freelance singer, mainly in the field of early music (Baroque and Renaissance), and at the moment mainly with many Renaissance ensembles, such as Huelgas, InVocare, Profeti della Quinta and La Main Harmonique.
Why
I’ve always loved singing since I was a kid, and got into classical music through my high school’s choir program. I’ve wanted to do something with performing arts for some time, so it all came naturally.
Hobbies
My hobbies include playing guitar (and accompanying myself while singing folk, French chanson, etc.), cooking, and hiking.
Something else
I could ask myself: What would I do for a living if I were not a musician? I would have had a hard time answering that question 10 years ago, but now I’m pretty sure it would be a language profession. I love learning languages and I read a lot about linguistics. So being a translator, linguist, or teacher of French as a second language would probably be fun for me!
