Children’s choir of the Schola Cantorum Basiliensis
Learning music like 500 years ago
… that is Spanish and means: Today we sing! Like the children in the monastery schools of past centuries, we learn polyphonic music by ear, read it together from a large choir book, repeat the tone steps by hand signs and with syllable names, and follow each other as “Dux” and “Comes” in the canon. The old learning methods enable us to improvise simple polyphony after only a little practice and thus make us composers of new music!
