David
Fallows

Many different instruments over the years, most recently double bass, now mainly piano and viola da gamba

Roots
Buxton, the gateway to the Peak District and reputedly the coldest town in England.

Studies
Cambridge, King’s College London, University of California at Berkeley

Professional
I retired a long time ago. But I am writing eagerly and with pleasure on my book Art Songs of the Burgundian Era, 1415-1480,” which I thought I had abandoned in 1995.

Why
It chose me.

Hobbies
There are far too many to list here.

What question would you like to ask yourself?
Why study songs from the fifteenth century? One day I realized that the time I was spending on it was uninteresting, and I realized that I really had to do it.
