Medieval and Renaissance transverse flutes; pipe and tabor; percussion

Roots
I grew up in Orange County, Southern California (USA). I moved away when I was 17, but I still return to visit every year.

Study
I studied medieval and Renaissance music at Schola (MA, 2022), instrumental music education at UW-Madison, and music and philosophy at Wheaton Conservatory of Music in Illinois (BM).

Professional
I am a freelance musician, director of Zweigulden and co-director of Ensemble Parlamento in Basel. I also enjoy my work as Managing Director here at ReRenaissance!

Why
It has a little bit of everything: historical imperatives and artistic creativity, extinct languages and new instrument makers, parchment manuscripts and a live audience.

Other Favorites?
A few favorite books: “The Sea, the Sea” -Iris Murdoch, “Gilead” -Marilynne Robinson, “Philosophy as a Way of Life” -Pierre Hadot, “When in French” -Lauren Collins, “The Portrait of a Lady” -Henry Miller

Something else
If I had to describe a perfect day, it might look like this: getting up early to get my work done, enjoying lots of vegetables and spicy food, and spending the whole day outside with my friends and family.
