Roots
I was born and grew up in northwest Poland, in Szczecin (=Szczecin).
Study
Piano (Szczecin, Diploma 1992), Musicology (Poznan, MA 1999, PhD 2010), Voice (Schola Cantorum Basiliensis, Degree 2001), Postgraduate studies at the University of Basel (Musicology/Nordic Studies), Postgraduate course in Advanced Vocal Ensemble Studies (Schola Cantorum Basiliensis)
Professional
At the moment I hold a professorship in musicology at the University of Freiburg im Breisgau and otherwise continue to work as a freelance singer, instrumentalist and conductor (Ensemble Peregrina, Ensemble Dragma, conducting the Radio Choir of the Polish Radio) as well as a voice teacher (private).

For the love of old music and languages.
Elective Affinities
My work is my real passion, especially research. Otherwise: cooking, wine, good series, languages. A very important time in my life was my year of wandering in London in the mid-90s.
