fiddle, renaissance violin, rebec and Bagpipes
Roots
I was born in Maisons-Laffitte, in a western suburb of Paris.
Study
Before coming to Basel, I studied for a year at the Centre de Musique Médiévale in Paris. I stayed at the Schola Cantorum Basiliensis for 5 years and had lessons with Randall Cook, Crawford Young and Dominique Vellard.
Professional
Besides my concert activities with my own Miroir de Musique and also other ensembles, I teach at the Medieval-Renaissance Department of the Schola Cantorum Basiliensis.
Why
Being a musician was clear from the beginning and early music was a possible direction. I almost slipped into the jazz or contemporary scene.
Elective Affinities
Umberto Eco: “The name of the rose“, self-hypnosis, playing the clarinet, Machaut’s motet “Inviolata genitrix“, Boulez’ “Dialogue de l’ombre double“, Lasso’s chanson “La nuit froide et sombre“.
