Karin
Weston

Soprano; but for medieval music I usually just say “voice”.

Roots
USA; born in Karachi (Pakistan); grew up in Washington State, Pakistan and Singapore (Saudi Arabia)

Study
I completed a bachelor’s degree at Scripps College in music and molecular biology and a master’s degree in HPP at Case Western Reserve University. I am currently studying music education at the Schola.

Professional
I am a singer specializing in the early music of Western Europe, and I also work as a paralegal for an employment attorney in New York.

Why
I sing because there is nothing more beautiful in life than to sing, and I make early music because I love to explore the worlds of the past.

Elective Affinities
Books/authors that were important to me: Jane Eyre, Moby Dick, David Foster Wallace; CDs: The Sunset Tree by The Mountain Goats, Coeur by Le Poème Harmonique
