Roots
I was born in Belgium, in Braine l’Alleud, like the famous Tinctoris.
Study
I studied recorder at the Conservatoire royal in Brussels, spent an Erasmus exchange year at the Universität der Künste in Berlin (contemporary music) and at the Schola Cantorum Basiliensis I studied medieval-renaissance music and historical oboe.
Professional
Currently, my professional life consists of projects of my own ensembles (musical puppetry, baroque chamber music ensembles, medieval alta capella), orchestral projects with oboe and recorder throughout Europe, and teaching (at the Dornach Music School).
Why
I did not choose this career. Out of curiosity, from one blunder into the next, my current musical pursuits developed quite naturally.
Elective Affinities
Gerd Lünenbürger is a person who has had an enormous influence on my attitude towards music, musical life, interpersonal relationships and teaching. I am very grateful to him for that.
