Roots
Born in The Hague, grew up in Belgium and France, resident in Basel since 1977.

Study
I studied recorder and early music interpretation in Strasbourg and Basel. I discovered traditional and historical dances mainly in France and Italy.

Professional
I teach late medieval and Renaissance dances as well as music notation at SCB. As the founder of the company RenaiDanse, I create and interpret choreography, lead balls, teach workshops, and work with musicians on how to interpret dance music.

Why
I love to pass on and share what excites me.

Elective Affinities
An LP by Frans Brüggen with Van Eyck’s Daphne. Forget about time – when you look for shells in the sand at low tide (pêche à pied).

Something else
I often ask myself: what’s next?
