Peter
Croton

Loud

Roots
I made my first sounds in New York City. I grew up in Ann Arbor, Michigan and upstate New York.

Study
I studied lute and guitar, classical and jazz, at the Oberlin Conservatory of Music and then lute at the Schola Cantorum Basiliensis.

Professional
I teach lute, romantic guitar, basso continuo, chamber music and historical performance practice at the Schola Cantorum Basiliensis and at the conservatories in Basel and Bern. I concertize, compose and write books via Lute and guitar playing. On a voluntary basis I organize lute and guitar festivals and am president of the German Lute Society.
Although I love being a musician, I would have liked to devote more of my life to fighting discrimination in any form, be it racial, gender, religious, socio-economic, etc. Perhaps there is still time for that.

Why
Love for the instrument and the music.

Elective Affinities
My biggest hobby is making music and teaching, but I also love hiking in the mountains, laughing, eating good food, watching movies, and listening to the Beatles, Stevie Wonder, James Taylor, and Joni Mitchell.

Something else
If someone asked me where I would like to be in 10 years, I would answer: Here.
