Roots
South Africa and Canada

Study
Before coming to the Schola Cantorum in Basel, I had studied in Cape Town and briefly in Barcelona.

Professional
I am a freelance singer specialising in early music, that is, anything before the 18th century. I work with Vox Luminis, Miroir de Musique, Sequentia, Huelgas and Ensemble Leones. I am a founding member of the vocal ensemble InVocare and perform in a duo with the viola da gamba player Mathilde Gomas, focusing on English songs performed with the lyre viol.

Why
The subject matter of early music never ceases to amaze me and I find it very enriching. Working in small ensembles is just wonderful.

Elective Affinities
I love elephants, snorkeling and the message in John Lennon’s song “Imagine”.
